MRS. LAILA SABBAH TAHLAWI

OWNER & FOUNDER

The founder and owner of JPIS, she opened the girls’ school in 1980 and the boys’ school in 1981; both in response to a need for a dual-language quality education for children in Jeddah. The current school facility was built under her direction in 1990. With her unending energy and dedication, Laila created a school culture which emphasizes the development of the whole child. She believes that schooling is both a rigorous academic experience as well as one in which each student becomes self-sufficient, self- assured and self-confident. Equally important to Mrs. Tahlawi’s vision is the insistence on maintaining a strong Arab Muslim Identity within an international context. Under her direction for over 30 years, JPIS has grown and shifted into an international school specifically catering to the children living in Jeddah today.
